Welcome to Oak Hill Wood
Local Nature Reserve
Local Nature Reserve
London Wildlife Trust
LWT manages this wild open space which is special ancient woodland; and has public access and open to enjoy all year round. Always something to see! Oak Hill Park is owned by Barnet Council - map
Keep safe: Some steep slopes. Take care on bridges and steps in case they are slippery.
Respect others you meet and give them space to pass.
Local Supporters
Friends of Oak Hill Park are some people of East Barnet Residents' Association (EBRA) who are the eyes and ears of our nature reserve and park; and who want to help preserve its environment. See ebra.eastbar.net for more information
How YOU can help
Keep to the main paths to protect habitats and the wildlife living there.
Remember spring-time is a sensitive time for wildlife.Keep this reserve and the park litter free - Any type of litter is both a danger to wildlife and unsightly.
Control your dogs
Whilst it is not a legal requirement to use a lead on public paths you should:be extra vigilant in the breeding season
always use a lead if you cannot rely on your dog’s obedience
Cyclists
Walk your bicycle through the nature reserve. Cycling will damage footpaths, tree roots & wildflowers
Dog owners
Pick up after your dog and please use the red dog waste bins provided
Fires are not permitted
Do not start them as you will damage the wildlife habitats
Motorised forms of road transport are not permitted in the wood. These are Barnet Council Parks and Open Spaces bye-laws
Accessibility. Caution, please note that because slopes are steep in places with steps, and at times it's muddy, Oak Hill Wood is not fully accessible to mobility scooter users
